Brace. Time stood still for a brief moment as the word sent command signals throughout my entire body. Every nerve, every muscle, every part of me right down to the almost transparent honey brown hairs on my forearms seemed to stand at attention, ready soldiers, as I tried to steady myself for the impact. I felt like I was having an outer body experience. I was connected, on all levels, to the present relationship I had with this moment in time and yet I was desperately trying to emotionally and physically disconnect from the future realities this flash would create in my life. It was like watching the scene of my own tragic car crash. I was unable to stop it, push pause, or step to the side and let someone else take my place. I now realize there’s no way to prepare for death, even when you know its coming.

I love how the author gives so much detailed information including past memories and flashbacks. It helps give better insight and understanding to a lot of the "why's". I empathize with her as I too cared for my mom in her last days leading up to that last ambulance ride. Reading this has brought back so many memories of my own but I appreciate Renee for sharing her story. It was a pure, comforting reminder that my love (my mother)-our loves are OK now..everything is ok.Product details

I can feel every emotion in your words! I feel like I am with you as you are describing just this beginning. I can imagine my heart exploding as the story continues. Looking forward to July to continue this love story between a daughter and her precious mama.
Jae, your story brought back so many memories of how I felt when my mother was dying. All I wanted was just a few mimutes to talk to her alone. But my aunties watched my every move and would not leave her side. So I never got the opportunity to say goodbye to my mother even though she was no longer talking, I knew she could here me.
